Who we are looking for:
We are seeking for a talented, highly-motivated and highly-numerical individual to join our EU power team as an intern. Specifically, we are seeking individuals with a background in one or more of the following: engineering, economics, or finance.
Our interns, working under the guidance of our power and carbon analysis team, will work on improving and developing new data for our energy and emissions model – specifically looking at the EU power sector. The work will require outstanding data management skills and will enable the successful candidate to learn about electricity market modelling.
Your experience and qualifications should include:
-Studying toward a degree in a numerate or science based subject.
-Knowledge of European energy markets, including understanding of the operating principles of power and carbon markets.
-Able to assimilate and assess new and highly technical information.
-Exceptional quantitative skills, comfort with databases, commodity and market statistics among other aspects of market analysis and consulting.
-Ability to cut through the noise of large quantities of data, and to extract and analyse key patterns.
-Exceptional communication skills and professionalism.
-Must act as a thought-leader and self-starter, have a high work-rate, ability to work on parallel tasks and rigorous attention to detail.
-Second European language is desirable
-Knowledge of VBA or other programming language is desirable
